Religious School
Our religious school is a comprehensive eight-year program that begins with Kita Aleph (Kindergarten) and continues through seventh grade. Hebrew is an integrated component of our curriculum and is taught throughout the entire program.
The objective of our school is not Bar/Bat Mitzvah, but the education of a Jew. We endeavor to enrich every student with knowledge, context and a sense of self-esteem. We make every effort to promote our belief that the student is not just a participant in the religious school, but a cherished member of our congregational family.
Students in Kita Aleph through second grade attend only on Sunday mornings. The upper grades attend Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. Our school year loosely follows the Toms River School District calendar. One year prior to Bar/Bat Mitzvah, each student begins a weekly tutorial with the Rabbi.
• Sunday Classes are from 10AM to Noon
• Tuesday Classes are from 4:30PM to 6:15PM for 3rd grade and up.
We are looking for class parents.
Please send a note to your child’s teacher if you are interested.
Urgent!
There is to be no stopping to drop off or pick up students at the entrance or the middle of the driveway leading to the parking lot! Both can lead to serious situations! I am asking that parents get out of their cars at dismissal to walk over and pick up their children and walk them to their cars as there are cars pulling in and out at that time. Please observe this note.
Parking Issues: YOU MUST PARK IN THE LOT
Rain, shine, sleet or snow, if the postman can make his/her rounds, you can walk to the RS doors to escort your child safely to your car.
EARLY PULL OUT:
During certain seasons and for various occasions, students need to be dismissed early from their second period class. If this is the case, please send a note informing the teacher. Your child will be allowed to leave the class and go to the office to await you COMING IN to pick him/her up. DO NOT GO DIRECTLY TO THE CLASS, AS IT IS A DISRUPTION TO THE TEACHING PROCESS.
